Project 4: Sense of Place

 Photo 1: Framed Stillness

I took this photo in Huron at Ravine Lake. The branches stretch across the image and frame the view, making it feel like I’m standing under the tree. I liked how it felt. The water and sky make everything feel really calm and quiet, with small houses and land in the distance. This is how peaceful Huron is, especially when there's not much going.

Photo 2: Standing Quietly
I took this in Huron at Memorial Park. These trees stood out to me because they look simple but also kind of strong. I liked how they all stand together but still feel a little empty without leaves. The surroundings feel very open and natural, with not a lot of movement, which makes everything seem calm and simple.

Photo 3: Where the Path Leads
This is at the Memorial Park in Huron. I like this because of how the tree looks, and the pathway creates a sense of movement through the landscape. The light, shadows, pathway, and trees work together to give the location a peaceful but slightly dramatic feeling.

Photo 4: Leaning Into Time
I took this at Sandy Beach in Mitchell. I like how the leaning tree leans over the water. It feels a little off balance, but still strong. It also shows how nature changes over time, which makes this scene feel more unique compared to the others.

Photo 5: What Remains

I took this at Sandy Beach in Mitchell. I like how these two fallen trees are resting in the water.  The reflections and the lines from the trees make the scene feel calm. The surroundings feel quiet but also a little empty, almost like the area has been left undisturbed for a long time. It creates a quiet and almost abandoned mood to it.
